Dr. Lou Gilpin studied the active faulting and seismicity of southern Alaska, earthquake induced landsliding of Montana, as well as coastal geology of California, Alaska, and Vanuatu, South Pacific. His research background background in earthquake areas of the world combined with his 25 years of practical engineering geology experience in the Bay Area provide an invaluable resource for Bay Area engineering projects. • An evaluation of landslide hazards for residential developments and commercial facilities through out the greater San Francisco Bay area and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
